Comic Collectors
The chaotic arrangement of collectables almost makes it feel like perusing the endless treasures of a dense garage store, where every inch of floor and wall space is filled to the brim with buyable stuff. With Comics in the name, it’s no surprise the superheroes and villains of Marvel and DC are among the most popular it items at Grey Region. New issues released monthly or bimonthly on Wednesdays fill the entire stretch of wall on the left, after a gargantuan supply of Japanimation DVDs, Manga books and novelizations of popular films.
Protecting Your Investment
All titles, new and old, are bagged with cardboard backing for protection, but you can still peruse the individual issues as long as you’re careful. Towering in the centre aisle are three shelves lined with boxes of back issue. Arranged alphabetically, most titles are now reduced to bargain prices, allowing collectors to cheaply complete their sets.
Dungeon Crawling Bargains
Just beyond the stock of comic books, role-players will find a cramped alcove with all the latest core rule books for Dungeons and Dragons and other fantasy series. You’ll also find several DND supplements, like maps, character sheets and back issues of Dungeon and Dragon magazines (which can also be found on magazine racks at the front of the store). Grey Region buys back old role-playing books (including the now archaic first and second editions of DND) so nostalgic gamers will be in for a treat. All new role-playing materials are sold at US cover price.
From Paint to PC
Working one’s way back to the front counter, you’ll find pewter miniature figurines, including the popular Reaper series as well as Testers, Model Masters and Tamiya brand paints. Colours cover all the basics and fun choices like Lich Purple, Nauseating Blue and Bilious Green. Grey Region even has a line of modern computers decked out with advanced graphic processors for playing the latest RPGs and first-person-shooters.

My boyfriend tells me this place is a nerd's paradise: It has comic books, figurines, internet access and toys. Yes, it really is a geek's delight.
ReplyDeleteGrey Region is located on Yonge, surprisingly right across the street from another popular comic book store, 1000000 Comix, but it oviously has its own strong following.
This place has everything from your typical Marvel and DC comics to random ones, like CSI and The Simpsons.
They also have all the comics organized by author - so if you have a particular favourite you don't have to search by comic name.
The store is very big and has a pretty huge collection - there's even a whole bunch of bins filled with random less popular comics for $1. That's obviously where I found the CSI comic.
This is great place for any comic lover and a good place to check out if you're out and about in the area.
