Download speed problems

The disparity in upload speed between your tablet and desktop could stem from several factors:

  1. Network Interface: Tablets often use Wi-Fi, which can fluctuate based on signal strength, proximity to the router, and network interference. If your desktop is connected via Ethernet, it should theoretically provide more stable speeds, but this depends on the quality of the network card and cable.

  2. Hardware Specifications: Tablets, especially newer models, may have more optimized network hardware that can handle faster data transfers, while your desktop might have an older or less efficient network card.

  3. Background Processes: Desktops typically run more background applications that can consume bandwidth, such as cloud services, updates, or other network-related tasks, which could throttle (limit) the upload speed.

  4. Network Settings: The desktop might have different network configurations or outdated drivers that could hinder its performance. Ensure that your desktop’s network drivers are updated and that there are no limitations set in the network settings.

  5. ISP Throttling: Some Internet Service Providers (ISPs) might manage bandwidth differently depending on the device type or usage patterns, although this is less common.

Testing both devices in the same environment with identical network conditions can help isolate the issue further.
